March of the Living
Bitola, Skopje and Shtip

On 11 March 1943  the Jews of Monastir and the entire Jewish population of Macedonia were forcibly taken by Nazi soldiers to Skopje, the nation’s capital where they were temporarily held until being transported in cattle cars to be executed in Treblinka.

Every year, hundreds of participants from around the world attend a week inspiring journey to Macedonia and march in 3 March of the Livings in the cities of Bitola, Skopje and Shtip, in memory of our brothers and sisters who perished in the Balkans at the hands of the Nazis.
